The management team offers an impressive breadth of business experience with over seventy years in recreational community development, hospitality, finance, marketing and sales, and health care. They deliver over 90 years of combined experience specific to developing and operating Life Plan Communities nationwide.
Marc Puntereri
Marc Puntereri has been involved in the development and operations management of large-scale golf and resort planned communities, for more than 45 years, including Vice-chairmanship of the then publicly-traded resort and real estate company, Sea Pines Associates, Inc.
Mr. Puntereri has worked with a number of state agencies to revise regulations to acknowledge equity ownership within existing CCRC licensing criteria, and has served as a consultant to private developers on a variety of retirement communities. He also has been a keynote speaker on retirement living at a number of universities and industry conferences in the US, Europe and Australia. He received his MBA from The Darden School at the University of Virginia, where he also received his undergraduate degree.
James P. Coleman
Jim Coleman joined the Sea Pines Company in 1972, becoming a Senior Vice President for Hilton Head Plantation. He and associates later formed the Melrose Company which focused on golf and resort planned community development in a variety of projects in the Hilton Head area. In 1988, Mr. Coleman developed the idea for a condominium-based continuing care retirement community in Hilton Head Plantation, sowing the seeds for what would become The Cypress product. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
